An accomplished veteran of more than 30 years in the real estate industry, Hawley joined Stewart in 2000. Hawley is responsible for managing the Multinational Title Services Group, which specializes in providing title services to companies that routinely purchase and sell commercial real estate in more than one country. He is also a senior underwriting counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Company.

Hawley has served in many capacities in the title insurance industry including as Manager of Stewart’s New York Metro National Title Services (NTS) operation. Prior to joining Stewart, Hawley held the following senior positions at Chicago Title Insurance Company: Senior National Commercial Underwriting Counsel (New York City), New England Area Manager (Boston), New England Area Marketing Manager (Stamford), Northeast Regional Claims Counsel (New York City) and State Title Operations Counsel (New Haven, Connecticut). He was also an Underwriting Counsel at Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company (CATIC) in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Before entering the title insurance industry, he practiced law in Bridgeport and Westport Connecticut. His specialty was commercial real estate transactions.

Hawley received his undergraduate degree in English from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and his law degree from the University of Detroit. He is a Retired Brigadier General in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, receiving the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Commendation Medal during his distinguished career of 33 years in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.
